Installing WordPress on your cPanel is a straightforward process, especially with the one-click installers offered by most hosting providers through Softaculous. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help beginners and novices install WordPress on cPanel:

Installing WordPress Without Softaculous Installer

If your cPanel hosting doesn’t have Softaculous or any other one-click installer, you can still install WordPress manually. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help beginners install WordPress on cPanel without using an auto-installer:

Step 1: Download WordPress

• Go to the official WordPress website: WordPress.org is different from WordPress.com, visit this WordPress (https://wordpress.org/download/) and click on the “Get WordPress” button to download the latest version of WordPress.

Step 2: Access cPanel

• Log in to your web hosting account and navigate to the cPanel dashboard using the login details provided by your hosting provider.

Step 3: Create a Database

• In cPanel, look for the “MySQL Databases” or “Database Wizard” option.

Input your database name and Create a new database for your WordPress installation.

Now you need to create a database username and Password.

Click the Go Back Button to go back to where you created the database because that’s where we are going to create the database username, and password and give privileges to the username

Click the Go Back Button to go back to where you created the database and let us add the username we created to the database we created and give all privileges to the username. This is important. Scroll down to where you will find the screenshot I provided below.

Find the username and database you created and click the Add button.

Click on All Privileges to Select all privileges and click on Make Changes to Apply

Step 4: Upload WordPress Files

• In cPanel, access the “File Manager” or use an FTP client to upload the WordPress files to your web hosting server. If you use the File Manager, upload the zip file and extract it to the desired directory (usually public_html).

Upload The Downloaded WordPress through File Manager to your public_html folder and extract. Below is a screenshot to help you locate what you need.

Reload the page to see the new folder. Please Note: The WordPress files will be in a WordPress folder.” You must move all the files in that folder to your main public_html folder. Let me provide you with an image to assist you further.

You have to click on Select All, and after selecting All, you have to click on the Move Button on the Dashboard to Move the files to your main folder.

You have to delete “WordPress” from the directory /public_html/test/  and click on Move Files.

Now your files are moved to your main directory; the next step is to access your website URL to input your database and password and make some basic Settings for Your WordPress.

Get The Following Ready and Click on Let’s Go.

1. Database name
2. Database Username
3. Database password
4. Database host
5. Table prefix (if you want to run more than one WordPress in a single database)

Slikky Advice: Don’t use default wp_ table prefixes for security purposes; use any random 2, 3, or 4 letters for your table prefixes. In this test installation, I use “JaXi_” as my prefixes; your own can be anything.

Input the Database name we’ve created, the username we’ve created, and the password we used when creating the database username. Leave the database host as localhost and use any table prefixes you want. Then submit.

If you’ve followed everything correctly, your WordPress should be able to communicate with your database, and the next step would be to make some settings for your blog.

Step 5: Complete the Installation

• On the next screen, enter your site title, admin username, password, and admin email.
• Click on the “Install WordPress” button.

Step 8: Access Your WordPress Dashboard

• Once the installation is complete, you will see a success message. You can now access your WordPress admin dashboard by going to your domain’s URL and adding “/wp-admin” (for example, example.com/wp-admin).
